Parliament House was designed by the American architectural firm Mitchell Giurgola and Thorp as a result of an international design competition. Parliament House, opened 9 May 1988, it is regarded as one of Australia's most acclaimed buildings.
The most striking thing about Parliament House is the 81 metre high flagmast, other highlights of Parliament House include the the Foyer which features 48 marble-clad colums and 2 amazingly crafted marble staircases.
